Since 2015, China Allen has built her career at the intersection of financial services, business development, recruiting, storytelling, and strategic growth, helping financial professionals and the firms they serve make smarter moves in an increasingly complex industry.
After spending nine years inside the Independent Broker-Dealer world, China saw firsthand the challenges advisors face when evaluating their next chapter. She eventually took that expertise independent, founding Key Consulting & Placement, a national consulting and recruiting firm built around one simple philosophy: The right move should create a better outcome for the advisor, their clients, and the firm they ultimately call home.
Today, China is recognized as an elite matchmaker and strategic consultant in the financial services industry, specializing in advisor transitions, broker-dealer and RIA recruiting, executive and permanent placement, and strategic business development. She has helped facilitate billions of dollars in advisor assets transitioning to new homes while connecting financial professionals with platforms, firms, and opportunities aligned with their long-term vision.
But China’s work goes far beyond making introductions. She works alongside broker-dealers, RIAs, wealth management firms, and financial organizations to uncover what truly differentiates them in a crowded marketplace. Through strategic storytelling, value proposition development, recruiting strategy, employer branding, and talent acquisition, she helps firms articulate not only what they offer, but why the right advisor should choose them.

Her personal journey, from experiencing profound professional and personal setbacks to rebuilding her career and becoming a successful entrepreneur, has shaped her belief that where you start does not determine where you finish.
She is also an autism mother, an International Beauty Queen, motivational speaker, author, and passionate advocate who uses her platform to encourage others to pursue ambitious lives while embracing the experiences that made them who they are.

She leads the company’s marketing efforts, social media strategy, content creation, and outreach initiatives, helping keep advisors informed on industry opportunities and firm updates. Her ability to maintain strong communication and consistent brand presence helps expand Key’s reach and strengthen advisor relationships.

Steven Skinner
Steven works behind the scenes conducting in-depth research and analytics to support advisor due diligence. He helps compile comparative data across broker-dealers, RIAs, and custodians, building detailed side-by-side spreadsheets covering payouts, technology, fees, transition packages, support models, and platform capabilities. His research-driven approach helps ensure advisors have the information needed to make educated, strategic decisions.
